National Canadian Film Day creates awareness of cultural diversity

The Sault Ste. Marie Local Immigration Partnership (LIP), in collaboration with Reel Canada, will host National Canadian Film Day on April 20 and April 21.

The 2016 National Canadian Film Day event is intended to build awareness, educate and provide Canadian-based family entertainment through the showing of cinematic stories. Through Canadian film, LIP hopes to create awareness of the cultural diversity in our vast region, as well encourage the uniting of all members of our community.

Films include:

The Grand Seduction
April 20 - 7 p.m. - Algoma University, Room RW200
April 21 - 6:30 p.m. - Sault College, Room B1170

Edwin Boyd: Citizen Gangster
April 20 - 6 p.m. - Sault Ste. Marie Public Library - Centennial Location

Breakaway
April 20 - 6:30 p.m. - Sault College, Room B1170
