Ontario Works is seeking candidates to participate in the fourth phase of Destination North's Superior Skills Training venture. Superior Skills is a unique partnership between Ontario Works, Sault College, the Algoma District School Board and Destination North.

Ontario Works is looking for 10 recipients to participate in the Superior Skills Farming Training program which begins mid-May 2015. Superior Skills will provide an intensive 8-week training program focusing on skills required in the farming industry. This program will emphasis and promote individual responsibility and personal growth.

Skills acquired through the Farming program will include: water management, planting techniques, organic vs. non-organic, timelines associated with farming, and budgeting and business related to farming. These transferable skills will prove valuable to the area greenhouse growers, nurseries, and farms for the upcoming growing season.
