City Council composition under review

The Sault Ste. Marie City Council Review Committee is in the process of looking at the size and shape of geographical wards and evaluating the composition of City Council.

Public feedback is essential and encouraged as part of the review process. Residents and stakeholders can submit comments online and in-person.

Visit surveymonkey.com/R/SSMCouncilReview to tell us what you think about the City's geographical division and current Council composition. Survey responses will be accepted until November 30.

Prior to completing the survey, visit saultstemarie.ca/CouncilReview for background details and information. Paper copies of the survey are also available at the City Clerk's office - Level 4, 99 Foster Drive.

Currently Sault Ste. Marie is divided into six wards with two councillors representing each ward.

The City Council Review Committee will make recommendations to City Council regarding Council composition and wards. Sault Ste. Marie City Council will make the final decision on whether or not to accept the recommendations of the Committee. Any changes that occur as a result of the review will come into effect for the municipal election taking place October 2018.
