Local Immigration Partnership Program presents Newcomer Welcome Fair

The Sault Ste. Marie and Area Local Immigration Partnership invites all newcomers and community members to its Newcomer Welcome Fair on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Roberta Bondar Park and Tent Pavilion (65 Foster Dr.), from 12 – 4 p.m.
“For those who have recently made Sault Ste. Marie their home, this is a great opportunity to learn about the community, gain local insights, and receive a welcome bag filled with valuable community resources,” said Mary Ogenyi, Coordinator, Local Immigration Partnership. "We are excited to extend a warm welcome to newcomers in our community and look forward to highlighting the vibrancy that makes our community truly remarkable."
There will be live cultural performances, face painting, henna artistry, and multicultural snacks throughout the day. The event is being presented as part of Welcoming Week initiatives from September
8 – 17. This annual tradition fosters connections between newcomers and long-standing residents in the spirit of inclusivity. Admission to the Newcomer Welcome Fair is free and everyone is welcome.
