Parking
The Parking Enforcement Section administers and monitors the parking enforcement program, the operation of municipal parking lots, the collection of parking meter coinage, and maintenance of metered equipment.
Municipal Parking Meters
The City operates and maintains 400 electronic parking meters (one or three hour limit) in the downtown core (Pim Street to Gore Street). Meter payment is required between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
The cost is $1/hour in Queenstown (Pim Street to Dennis Street) and .50 per hour in the City Centre (Dennis Street to Gore Street).
Accessible Parking Permit holders and Veterans (Poppy License Plates) are granted 2 hours free parking at meters in the downtown core.
Parking Lots
The City also operates several “two-hour free” parking lots, and two “permit only” parking lots. See links below for details with respect to municipal parking lots.
The Parking Enforcement Section administers and monitors the parking enforcement program, the operation of Municipal parking lots, the collection of parking meter coinage, and maintenance of metered equipment.
The two-hour free limit parking lots are administered and enforced by the Parking Enforcement Section. The Parking Section administers and trains special constables who enforce parking regulations on private properties.
